Moving sculpture
An assignment done in groups together
with my kabk colleagues for a class assignment. I
usually enjoy collaborations and this time was no
different. When working with other students I
usually tend to take the lead and try to encourage
the rest of the group to show their best side.

The moving sculpture assignment taught us how to
explore and enlarge the initial idea. In the beginning
our group agreed on a concrete plan but later the
plan turned into a theme and the theme gave birth
 to something different.
Moving sculpture - Personal interpretation
This is my personal interpretation of the moving sculpture assignment (see one post underneath).

My idea was to take the elements/materials we used in the original project and turn them into something visually similar but different conceptually. In the beginning I planned to use two fans directed at each other with plastic foil in between them. I was hoping for an interesting visually effect. I imagined the foil  spinning and turning into tornado. It didn't work out. With the deadline approaching I decided to create something big instead. I taped the plastic foil to the ceiling and floor, creating an isolated space where a person was to be hidden.
After the presentations I like to treat my works with disrespect, usually it includes painting, bending, breaking or burning them. In this case I wondered how the foil would react to fire, It wasn't that spectacular. So I decided to paint it instead.

Squashing space machine, not as exciting as I intended it be.
Wooden construction that I found. When I tried to peak it up and run away, I noticed it folds up due to lack of diagonal connections. Later on I decided to play around with that idea.
So, this is what I came up with! First I bored holes to connect the sticks with screws (see arrow), but later I discovered the possibility of drilling horizontal holes. It allowed me to make moveable connections.
I made more spatial models and brought them to this big lake in the Hague :)
I came to realize that not only the surroundings matter, it's also the way you orient the object in given space! Even the smallest of adjustments can affect the 'feel' of the model. When I buried it in the sand I started to ponder: Can a small house with a big basement be as big as a big house is with a small one?
Before prepering the sketches of the shelter I attempted to look for shelters in nature and architecture.
Portable museum
One day the tire in my bike exploded, it was late, and I was forced to return home on foot. I was shocked to find out how intriguing the streets can actually be. It was after that night I started to collect pictures of thrown out mattresses. I never expected to use them in any meaningful way, but a few weeks later I was lucky to exhibit them on a painted inflatable mattress!

Sound Assignment
Yet another big group assignment. With a group of three students we build a remote control spinner. initially we aimed for distance sensors but due to their limitations we went with remote control instead, programming the motor to three different programs.
Workgroup experiments
Workgroup assignments helped me explore diffrent workshops and materials such as wood, metal and textile.
A resonating box
Metal flipflops and metal scarf were part of wearable art assignment.
